  • To join the directory you must be:

    ✅ Operating an art or handmade business in Northern Ontario.


    What is an art or handmade business?
    We only accept art and handmade businesses (no MLMs) and we expect that you not only make but also DESIGN at least 85% of your goods. Buying SVGs/digital files and turning them into products isn't enough to be accepted into the directory as unfortunately as we are seeing a trend where multiple makers are making the same items with minimal variation.

    We also insist that you NOT wholesale items from online (TEMU, Shein, Etsy) etc. and then package them for resale under your brand. That is NOT handmade. We do understand that some supplies are wholesaled then used as a part of your business and product and that is acceptable however, the item should not be a wholesaled item with your branding applied. Thank you for your understanding!

    Where is Northern Ontario?

    For the purpose of defining the location for inclusion in the directory, your legal business address must be within Northern Ontario which includes the districts of: Sudbury, Manitoulin, Parry Sound, Nipissing, Temiskaming, Cochrane, Algoma, Thunder Bay, Rainy River and Kenora.

    *Makers North Collective retains the right to refuse an application or ask for more information about your products and/or business.

  • YES.

    Your directory listing includes ONE link to either a website, shop, or your social media.

    The main purpose of the directory is for people to be able to FIND your work and to shop. If you want them to just be able to find your work and then contact your or book your services, that also works.

  • At the moment, no. We’re looking into this for the future so if you are interest, feel free to pop us an email at hello@makersnorthcollective.com and share your interest.

  • You annual listing in the Shop Northern Ontario Handmade Business Directory costs $99/year. Listings automatically renew annually, you can cancel at anytime. All prices in Canadian dollars.

  • Our mission here at Makers North Collective is to build a strong creative community, highlight the incredible talent in the North and provide space for creatives to connect and thrive together.

    The Shop Northern Ontario Handmade Business Directory is one of the ways that we can support the creatives in our area to build thriving, profitable businesses.

  • To join the Shop Northern Ontario Handmade Business Directory you’ll need:

    ✅ One great photo of your work. Not accepted: photo collages or photos with water marks or logos.

    ✅ A short description of your work and/or business.

    ✅ One link that you’d like included in the directory (this could be to your website, ETSY shop, or social media account).

  • Makers North Collective provides a money-back no-questions-asked guarantee. You may request your money back within 7 days of your purchase simply by emailing hello@makersnorthcollective.com.

    You can cancel your listing at any time and request it be removed from the directory. Email your request to hello@makersnorthcollective.com.
