Market FAQs

  • Makers North strives to create events that highlight a variety of outstanding makers and their wares. We look at the type of craft, workmanship, creativity, originality, price and product fit. Please do not be discouraged or offended if you do not get accepted. Often it is a case of too many makers in the same category.
We cannot stress the importance of submitting high quality photos.
    - We firmly believe in representation and seek to include makers from marginalized backgrounds or those in the LGBTQIA2S+, Indigenous and Black or POC communities.
    - Northern Ontario based makers have priority.
    - We accept approx. 25% of makers from outside the north to introduce new talent to our community.
    - Julieanne and Tracy as co-owners of Makers North Collective have the final say as to who takes part in each event to ensure new makers are accepted into each show and that folks are not taking part every single time to allow for variety.
    - Jury members are comprised of makers from The Collective in a random selection. We do not share our jury members due to past harassment and bullying both online and in person.
    - Past negative experiences with makers does affect future acceptance. We strive to be professional, provide assistance, provide you with the best opportunity for your business and to be kind in the process - the same is expected in return.

  • The best way to figure out if your work would be a good fit is to check out our previous shows and vendors

  • We currently do not have the capacity to provide individual feedback for all makers who have applied.

  • In the event of cancellation, we cannot guarantee a refund. If it is possible for us to fill your spot with an appropriate maker from our wait list, we will provide a partial refund.
    - Cancellations within 2 weeks of the show will not receive a refund.

  • We promote our markets via:

    • listings online

    • signage throughout Sudbury and beyond

    • press releases

    • look book

    • blog

    • social media

    • contests

    • our website

    • print materials

    • road signage + MORE

Your application gives us the right to use your photos (with your name/brand name) to promote your work and the show on social media/online/in print.

Will you share materials with me to advertise the event?
Of course! We'll provide you with promotional material to use on social media etc. Postcards & posters will be available.

  • Electrical outlets will be available at some spots, please request this on the application form (though we cannot guarantee this).

  • Your products must be made by you, the maker. A few notes:

    • no MLMs

    • Buying SVGs/digital files and turning them into products isn't enough to be accepted into the the market. Designs must be your own.

    • You may NOT sell wholesale items sourced online (TEMU, Shein, Etsy) that are packaged for resale under your brand. That is NOT handmade.

  • No. One maker/brand per table or booth. You are not permitted to sell products that are not part of your brand
