Hello fabulous volunteers + staff!

We are your BIGGEST FANS and can’t wait to share our happy handmade weekend with you. From the incredible makers to the fun community building, this is easily our fave weekend so let’s get down to the nitty gritty!

College Boreal, Sudbury

The market is only on the 25 + 26 but volunteers shifts begin on the 24th.

Parking

There is free parking at College Boreal, however we will post a map showing where you should park soon. We try to save the closer lots for our guests.

However if you have any accessibility concerns, please feel free to park wherever works best for you.

Food

We provide lunch for our full day staff & volunteers. We will respect any food related preferences submitted in your application.

There is also a preorder available via Saint Oliver if you so choose at your own expense. See link below.

  • Head to the Volunteer Check-In Area (usually near the main entrance). A map will be provided closer to the to the date.

    Look for signage or ask any organizer if you’re unsure!

  • Wear something comfortable and weather-appropriate, plus:

    • Closed-toe shoes (recommended).

    • A Makers North volunteer badge or lanyard (provided at check-in).

    • We also have Makers North aprons.

    • Extra emphasis on comfortable footwear!

  • While your main focus is volunteering, we will make sure you have plenty of time to shop around! We always ensure volunteers have breaks and there is often time as things slow down to browse.

  • You may be helping with:

    • Directing foot traffic or answering questions

    • Assisting makers with small needs

    • Helping with setup or teardown

    • Monitoring activity areas or workshops

  • Stay calm and notify Tracy, Julieanne or security immediately. If urgent, follow venue safety procedures and call emergency services if needed.
